The Hobby Depot Consignment Program

Overview

The Hobby Depot offers consignment services for sports cards, trading cards, memorabilia, diecast, and other approved collectibles. We handle the photography, pricing, listing, customer communication, shipping, and payment collection so you don't have to.

How It Works

Step 1 – Submit Your Items

Email consignment@shophobbydepot.com with:

  • Photos of the items
  • Brief description
  • Condition
  • Your desired selling price (optional)

Step 2 – Review

We'll review your submission and respond with:

  • Whether we will accept the items
  • Estimated market value
  • Recommended listing price
  • Expected timeframe to sell

Step 3 – Ship or Drop Off

Once approved, send the items to The Hobby Depot or arrange a local drop-off.

Please package items securely.

Step 4 – We Sell Your Items

We take care of:

  • Photography
  • Pricing research
  • eBay & Shopify listings
  • Customer questions
  • Payment processing
  • Secure packaging
  • Shipping
  • Returns (when applicable)

Step 5 – Get Paid

Once the item sells and the buyer's payment has cleared, your proceeds will be sent within 7 business days.

Consignment Fees

Items Selling Under $100

20% Commission (on top of any eBay fees, if applicable)

$100–499.99

15% Commission (on top of any eBay fees, if applicable)

$500+

10% Commission (on top of any eBay fees, if applicable)

High-End Collections

Large collections may qualify for reduced commission rates.

Items We Do Not Accept

  • Counterfeit items
  • Damaged items with little resale value
  • Bulk commons (unless pre-approved)
  • Items prohibited by eBay or Shopify policies

Pricing Policy

The Hobby Depot will recommend pricing based on current market conditions.

The consignor may:

  • Approve our recommended price
  • Set a minimum acceptable sale price
  • Approve offers below list price in advance

Offers & Negotiation

The Hobby Depot actively negotiates with buyers.

If you establish a minimum sale price, we will never accept an offer below that amount without your approval.

Unsold Items

Items may be returned at any time upon request.

Return shipping is the responsibility of the consignor unless otherwise agreed.

Insurance

While items are in our possession, they will be stored securely.

The Hobby Depot is not responsible for loss or damage caused by:

  • Natural disasters
  • Theft beyond reasonable security measures
  • Carrier damage before receipt

Additional insurance may be requested for high-value items.
